What was once Manchester United's
moment and place to destroy their opponents' will to live, injury time
at Old Trafford, has become yet another example of the club's newfound
sorrows under David Moyes. It was all fist pumps and renewed optimism
when Man United overcame a 19th-minute goal from last-place Fulham and
took a 2-1 lead in the 80th minute with a goal from Michael Carrick. But
then, in the fourth minute of added time — the very heart of what was
once called Fergie Time — Fulham substitute Darren Bent stunned the home
side with an equalizer.
Obviously, this was a painful
result that felt more like a defeat considering the opposition and the
toll of a season's worth of rare home defeats and indignities showed on the faces of the team that lifted the Premier League trophy just last year. Take a look.
