Just as we prepare to celebrate Valentine's Day

                               

It's  the season of love. I smell it everywhere I go. The shops are wearing new looks, flowers beautifully arranged, gifts shop overflowing with scintillating gifts, banners advertising discounts for those who would dare to patronize these hotels and eateries.

I hear relationships are packing up just this week; it does happen in times as these. The economy is not helping matters. Hmmm! Girls are prompt to answer your calls these days. They need someone who would bare the cost.

At least even if its just taking them to the movies with some pop corn and a bottle of coke.The guys of course are looking forward to the rewards and dividend of the expenses some are about to embark upon(mind blowing sex).

Many would be heartbroken. Many shall cry themselves to sleep. Many shall feel this emptiness. Many shall be betrayed. Many shall be downtrodden. The dejection and rejection shall continually abound. They look for love where it exist not. Do they even understand the concept called love?

Love is not all about gifts. All that glitters ain't gold. What we look for a far off is just within our reach yet we look away.We have to first love ourselves then others can love us. The question is how do I love me?

I would love me by understanding what love is. Love is pure. Love is not coerced. Love knows no strive. Love listens. Love understands. Love is subtle. Love is unquenceable. Love is addictive. Love is consumable. Love is long suffering.

Are you in a relationship and it's not working. You can make it work. Don't give up on love. Are you loving someone and that someone seems not to notice you? Move on. Someone is waiting for you to open that door. He awaits the knob of that door to unwind and open up. He wants to commune with you. Why suffer the pains of rejection? You feel used. Yes, you a fool for love. The way forward is forward.  

Love should transcend sexual intercourse.
