The President Deserves Some Respect

President Goodluck Jonathan
It is with nostalgia I read irresponsible reports from Regional Bigots who pretend and hide under the auspices and shadow of citizen's reportage to peddle lies which lacks credence and has written over it its intended evil intentions of misinforming the public with fictional stories concorted in their bedroom.

The President like every other mortal man deserves some respect. Just like any other man can be prone to illness and sickness as he is not from above but a man amongst men. Constructive criticism should not be clouded with regional sentiments and desperation for power as power belongs to God.

The Power of a Twitter Handle - Yemi Olutayo

With the geometric increase in the number of new people that sign up for Twitter monthly, many are in need of positive guide so as to be relevant in the social media world. The ones that don’t get this guide usually end up constituting nuisance to our online environment. Naturally, everyone wants to be reckoned with; no one wants to be left out, irrespective of what we do, we always crave support and acceptance from fellow humans; even the terrorists and armed robbers wants to be friend with the media. Twitter happens to be one of those few platforms where such an attention is gotten; with the way it is structured, the longing for high number of human supporters (followers) can be disturbing if not properly managed.

Mr Adamu Tanko Maikarfi

Barely one week after the death of the speaker, Mr Haruna Tsokwa, the Deputy Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, Mr Adamu Tanko Maikarfi weekend escaped being killed by unknown assassins.

It was reported the Assassins trailed him to his Brothers house but met his absence. The Deputy speaker confirming the reports sounded rather defiant as he promised to stand against Principles and promised not to compromise his position.

Its a pity we are treading this path. We need to grow up and see politics not as a do-or-all affair.

If you are reading this message, it is because you made it to Sunday. You did see today not because you own your life but because of Grace. So many times we don't know how we live by the day but fail awfully to acknowledge the Supreme God. As a Country we are so highly favored. I say this because we hear of pestilences and Disaster of wanton Magnitude but we don't witness such in our land. I wonder if such would befall us an unprepared Country as regards Poor Risk Assessment and Disaster Management plan and preparedness.

The Philippines has witnessed more than 15 Natural Disaster this year alone. This typhoon Haiyan is presumed to be the worst Disaster ever witnessed on Earth dwarfing the Hurricane Katrina Disaster. There is quantum Number of yet to be ascertained casualty arises from the typhoon which swept seaside building away and causing severe damage to large area of land space spanning towns. The storm is headed for Vietnam as we speak. Our hearts goes out to the good People of the Philistines who may have lost loved ones and properties in this disaster.

Big Lessons from Abu Dhabi- Dele Momodu

Fellow citizens, this is certainly a good time to be a proud Nigerian. It must be obvious to all and sundry what the source of that pride is. If you missed the Nigeria-Mexico under-17 final match played in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, last night, you missed a great deal. The game was that wonderful. Our guys played with mathematical precision. Their approach was scientific. And they had no time to waste. They must have realised the hopes of 170 million people rested on them. Ours is a country where bad news has been the order of the day. We could afford to indulge in the giddiness of football and derive some fun in a rare moment of ecstasy.

Rejoinder:Waiting for implosion of APC- Chioma Gabriel

The All Progressives Congress seems to be having an owambe party all over Nigeria; from the North to the South and is getting all the media attention required. The party also appears to be mocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and celebrating the implosion of the ruling party.

But somehow, there is always this nagging feeling that just like the PDP, the APC is also an accident waiting to happen. The opposition party seems to be disappointing in many fronts and some nagging questions are beginning to come to mind - These were the opening remarks of Chioma Gabriel in her piece, "Waiting for the Implosion of APC".

Rejoinder: #WandeDonjazzyGate- Uduak Oduok

I normally do not like getting involved in matters as these, but it seem this blogger need some publicity and so this my contribution for some more recognition not to popularize her creativity but her naivety.
Her opening remarks were so eye catching as I thought she was going to be neutral in setting out the records straight but no soon as I begin to read I saw her biase and profound love for the ololufe boy from Mushin.

CHIME NEVER IMPRISONED HIS WIFE

It was on the 29th I first came accross the story of Gov. Chime imprisoning the wife against her consent due to some health challenges she suffers.
I was of the opinion that the veracity of such a story cannot be verified and such matters are not for public consumption.
However, yesterday we heard that the Mrs Clara had engaged the services of the Human Rights lawyer to negotiate her release.
The story however, took a new turn today as the Governor explained his actions which I admit was in the interest of the family. The wife also refuted claims she engage any lawyer for that matter to seek her release from any detention. She however stated her grievances. Here is man who is managing a crisis the best way he can. I believe now that the Governor and the Wife has explained their roles in all these saga; the press should respect their privacy in these trouble and hard times for the couple. The focus should rather be on the developmental strides; the young man is achieving in Enugu state. God will keep this family and deliver them from the affliction and snare of the Devil.

AMAECHI AN EPITOME OF COURAGE

Photo Credit: Sahara reporters(Gov. Amaechi being greeted by a mammoth crowd)
Amaechi an epitome of courage was the words used to describe the amiable Governor of Rivers State by the National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande.

These remarks were made when the Governor received the National leaders of the All Progressive Congress who were in the State to woo the Governor to their party.

In several statements made by the APC leaders the summation of their comments was that since the Governors party were not appreciative of the Developmental strides of the Governor and since the leaking Umbrella can no longer accommodate neither shield the Governor from the scorching sun, It has become imperative that he jumps into the moving train so as to get to the promise land of political emancipation.

HUMAN RIGHTS LAWYER, FEMI FALANA COMES TO HER RESCUE

On the 29th of October I featured a story on the alleged imprisonment of the Mrs Clara Chime, the Wife of Enugu State Governor.
I was of the opinion that the claim for the cry for help from a said Mrs Clara could not be substantiated to be from her. However,it is beginning to look like the said story is infact true.
Mrs Chime has engaged the services of a Renowned Human Rights Lawyer, Bar. Femi Falana, who has asked the Inspector General of Police to ensure the immediate release of the unlawful detention of Mrs Chime, who is being held hostage at the Government House against her will or be dragged before a court of law.
