These Old folks teaches us that Love transcends Ages-Loma Linda

I was surfing around for a hilarious story to share with you my most esteemed readers and visitors to my page. I wanted something really captivating which would epitomize the reason for the season. For your reading pleasure I present to you the best story of love this year. Read and share some love this Xmas..........

When Gordon Scribner and Beverly Ely moved into Emeritus, a retirement facility, the two never thought they would ever become man and wife.

Hailing from different parts of the Inland Empire, Scribner and Ely met one another one fateful day while playing pool in the billiard room.

Humor and stories followed, and soon, the rest became history when the duo became husband and wife on Sunday.

Dozens flooded the facility's lobby to see the couple tie the knot in front of family spanning several generations.

The couple's great-grandchildren served as the bridal party, while Kevin Balli, the grandson of Ely, escorted her down the aisle.

"I could have never imagined planning a wedding for my 89-year-old mother and her 93-year-old boyfriend, but we are excited," said Sandy Balli, Ely's daughter, after the short but sweet ceremony. "This just shows that love is available at any age."

Doug Mace, associate pastor at Loma Linda University Church, officiated. The ceremony was followed by a reception with cupcakes, cake, sparkling cider and punch, and a performance choreographed for the occasion.

After the duo exchanged vows and their first kiss as a married couple, Mace introduced the two as Mr. and Mrs. Scribner to roaring applause from those in the audience, many of whom were residents of Emeritus.

"We are blessed that you, our friends and family, have joined us for this special occasion. Thank you," the two wrote in Sunday's wedding program.
