APC- the New set of thieves

Once met a friend who hates football passionately. He can't fathom why in a soccer match some bunch of 22 guys are all busy chasing after some ball. I knew he loved cricket; he is an Indian and so I had to taunt him by telling how much I distaste the game of cricket. Imagine leaving serious business to watch a crop of guys throwing balls at some guy with a stick and of course you know the details.  Is it not wonderful we all have some sports we cheer as fans?

Each of these sports have rules and it behoves on players to abide by these rules and act accordingly. Failure to do so attracts some painful sanctions. The game of politics is not quite different. It comes with intrigues as players become tactful. This makes the political arena a beauty to watch from afar.

The Barbarians Of Africa By Femi Fani-Kayode[Read]

Last week I wrote an essay titled ''12 Years A Slave and The Case For Reparations''. It was a historical account about the travails of the African and the black man over the last few centuries and, frankly, it was very moving.

I shed tears as I wrote that essay- tears for our people and their pitiable plight and tears for the challenges and sheer cruelty that our forefathers experienced in the hands of those that regarded us as nothing more than sub-human barbarians and chattel. Yet one wonders who the real barbarians were: were they those who found it so easy to treat their fellow human beings as thrash and vermin, worthy only of hate and fit only for servitude, suffering, hard labour and bondage or was it those that were the objects and victims of that pent-up hate, that were regarded as nothing more than animals and that were denied even the most basic right of being regarded as and treated like human beings?

0101dele-momodu-backpagex.jpg-.jpg - 0101dele-momodu-backpagex.jpg-.jpgFellow Nigerians, let me start by thanking you for understanding and accepting the reason for my interlude last week. It was due to circumstances beyond my control. As I was saying two weeks ago before we were crudely jolted out of our thoughts by the unfortunate calamity that claimed some of our young job applicants, 2015 is going to be a year of serious political tension in our dear country.

3D-printed transparent skull

Three months ago, surgeons in Holland implanted a transparent plastic skull in a woman whose skull has never stopped growing. Incredibly, the rare bone disease that was wrecking her vision and destroying her life has been been bested by a simple 3D printer. The team of surgeons, led by Dr. Bon Verweij at the University Medical Center in Utrecht, expect her new skull to last indefinitely, opening up new vistas for cranial transformation.

Ebola Virus spreading Accross Guinea, threatens the West Africa Hub

Ebola outbreak is reported in Conakry Guinea were over 60 persons have been reported to have died from this flesh eating virus which causes both internal and external bleeding. The disease has no known cure or vaccination with a high fatality rate close to about 90%.

The virus is transmitted by blood or other body fluids. The original source is likely to be an affected animal—a bat or sometimes a primate. The initial infection is through bush meat. If there are infected bats—or primates used as protein—in the process of butchering them, a person gets in contact with blood.

APC ARE NOISEMAKERS NOT NEWSMAKERS- RENO OMOKRI

Article written by Reno Omokri, Special Assistant to the President on New Media.

All advertising is based on the theory of Proof by Repeated Assertion which provides that a proposition repeated and restated regularly using the mass media comes to be accepted as true irrespective of any contradictions in the proposition being asserted. This theory is very effective and even more so in the modern world where attention spans are limited and people read headlines and draw conclusions without reading the story. Gone are the days of Ronald Reagan where that great communicator urged us to "trust but verify". Nowadays, very few people are prepared to pay the intellectual price of verifying what they are served by the media and some individuals have clued in on this deficiency amongst Nigerians and the fact that we can be subliminally manipulated by what we read in the media and have used this deficiency against us.

Movie Trailer: Hercules "The Rock" opens in theaters July 25[Photos]

It's not every actor who is willing (or able) to take on one of the world's most iconic roles, but Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is hardly your run-of-the-mill thesp. The 6-foot-five action star jumped at the chance to portray Greek mythology's most famous demigod — and based on the pics he's shared on Twitter so far, he quite possibly embodies Hercules like no man has before.

On Saturday, he tweeted an image of himself in full Herculean garb, bracing himself against three massive horses. But it's not the animals that steal the show; it's The Rock's completely yoked shoulders and back.

Before The Second Coming-Dele Momodu

Fellow Nigerians, let me apologise most sincerely that I have had to change our topic today. We were supposed to continue from where we stopped last week. The sad events of last weekend have forced me to suspend The Anatomy of APC and PDP (PART 2). We owe it to the victims to take a pause from politics and unite to mourn their departure and give a solemn promise that Never Again.

I don’t know how many people out there saw the pictures of the human degradation and tragedy that befell Nigeria in Abuja last week. Thanks to social media, it went viral in matter of minutes. It was the perfect evidence of our perfidious carelessness to the issue of joblessness in our richly endowed nation and the failure of the trite poverty alleviation schemes by successive regimes to offer any substantial succour to the ordinary man.

The Differences Between Successful People and UnsuccessfulPeople--DaveKerpen

A few weeks ago I received a postcard in the mail from the CEO of Petra Coach, the creator of Align Software and a fellow member of Entrepreneurs Organization. I've never met him, but Andy Bailey and his postcard that I hung up on my wall have already had a profound effect on me, reinforcing values I believe in and reminding me on a daily basis of the attitudes and habits that I know I need to embrace in order to become successful.
Below are the 16 differences between successful people and unsuccessful people that Andy Bailey and the postcard claim:

THE ANATOMY OF APC AND PDP--Dele Momodu

Fellow Nigerians, are you still in doubt that the race towards the 2015 Presidential election has started in earnest? Please, perish the notion. The campaign has crept in on us like a thief in the night but it is now in full bloom. Never mind the feeble groans and grunts of INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, who is only allowed to bark but cannot bite in reality. He enjoys my sympathy as a decent man who has landed a job bigger than him. All the bungled elections have only been righted by apologies and promises of better operations in the nebulous future. There is not much he can do in a nation where leaders wield the power of God and Satan at once.

Immigration recruitment saga : A call to action – Eseoghene Odiete

I never publicly talk about happenings in the society. But this case really got me sad especially when I heard that  six people lost their lives.

I witnessed the Lagos drama first hand.  No, I wasn’t there as an applicant.  I live close to the National stadium. The traffic, noise, transportation issues, mad crowd and so many youths on white was enough to tell me something unsual was happening.

Looking For Jobs, Finding Death – Femi Fani-Kayode

Whether anyone likes to accept it or not the bitter truth is that 80 per cent of our GRADUATES are unemployed in Nigeria today whilst 51 per cent of our PEOPLE are also unemployed. As a frightful and grave consequence of these shocking statistics, which I happen to believe may well be a world record in terms of unemployment, a terrible tragedy occurred in Abuja and other parts of our country on 16th March 2014.

Read:The Uncomfortable Truth Of Elusive Economic Development – Oby Ezekwesili’s Address At The APC Summit

Protocols:
Good afternoon, chieftains and members of the Action People’s Congress.
Thanks for inviting me as your Keynote Speaker at your Unveiling of Road Map Summit. I do not know how you decided to take this high risk of inviting me to your gathering, knowing full well that my zeal for candor can be generally unsettling for some people of your class and occupation.  Since you took the risk, I have assumed the liberty to speak boldly even to your discomfort especially considering that we live in a season of grim when our country is greatly troubled. In perilous times like this, Truth is the absolute freedom. I shall be spurred on by the counsel of George Orwell who in honor of truth stated that “in a time of deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act”. I further assume that if you wanted someone with the skills of deceit, it would not be me that you would have invited to your gathering. I therefore speak to you today not as a politician.

Sadiq Abacha Writes Open Letter To Prof. Wole Soyinka "You are losingyour grasp of reality"

If you want to think, speak and act logically then you should know all three.
1. The law of identity
2. The law of excluded middle
3. The law of non contradiction.

Now let’s look at each one of these and see what they mean in practice.
