Bamanga Tukur, PDP chair Resigns

The insistence by PDP governors and the passing of a vote of no confidence on him by the 37 state chairmen of the party on Tuesday night are said to have made Bamanga Tukur, the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to resigned

Tukur had insisted that he would not resign, saying that it was only the party's convention that could remove him, but he was said to have been pressured to resign by his son, Anwal who nurses a gubernatorial ambition.

His resignation however has not been made public but rumours has it he has no option but to throw in the towel having being barred from attending cause meeting at the villa. He got the indication of his removal when National executive members shunned a meeting called by him.

he has since tendered his resignation to Mr President with the attendant celebratory mode by staff who work at the Party's secretariat.
