The Double Standard of Twitter Activist- OGHAGHARE ESE FREEMAN

Two days ago witnessed the investiture and coronation of Tinubu's daughter as the Iya-loja of Lagos by his Eminence, HRH Oba Akiolu of Lagos State.

I personally didn't find it funny that the so-called Twitter activists were all mute on that issue. My discontentment stems from the activities we've so far witnessed on twitter, the last few weeks.

Let me make a bold statement here before I proceed further in this write-up that I am neither an Apostle of this government Policies nor a fan of the APC.

CLARA CHIME ALLEGEDLY CALLS FOR HELP

Gov. Chime and Wife in a function (Picture Courtesy Sahara Reporters)
When last week, Sahara Reporters gave an Excellent report as it relates to the Aviation Saga now very popularly and better known as OduahGate saga we all where happy as it does represent a good piece of Investigative Journalism.
This story of Gov. Chime falls short of anything called good reportage.
You cannot possibly make a claim without providing evidence of the said letter from the embattled First Lady. We also cannot possibly state the condition of the said lady as family matters of that magnitude I want to posit is not for public consumption. After the cut is a reproduced copy of the report courtesy Sahara Reporters. Let us know your thoughts on this story.

White Tiles- Dolapo (@dolapoalade)

Nigerians are creative. They've got skills. I stumbled on this OAP personality listening to her on the Mid-day show @thebeat979fm. First it was her voice. It could melt any man. Her voice is like tonic sofa; sounds like sweet music. Then I checked her profile. I saw she has a blog. Not a consistent writer but her piece are worth your time. I find one hilarious as I kinda relate to it. Thank-God Its a Friday. For your weekend pleasure, I share with you a piece from the stables of  http://www.nubianbluejay.wordpress.com- White Tiles, after the cut.........

I STAND AND I FIGHT- Femi-Fani Kayode

The Chief himself has graciously again shared his thoughts. I may not agree totally with his propositions but I can't ignore the fact that his piece are always well researched and carefully written.

let me state clearly that his works do not represent my views in totality but I tend to learn and gain more experience as a growing young man.

For your reading pleasure, here is an explosive piece as embedded from Fani Kayode's facebook wall, Just after the cut.........

Unsatisfactory Response to a Public Query Issued By the President to Her Majesty, The Aviation Mnister

For reasons best known to them,it took the Presidency ages to issue Madam Aviation Minister a query. I was thinking she was going to take the President's query seriously and treat it as a matter of public importance by giving a robust reply or better still tender her resignation with unreserved apology to the Nigeria people on whose trust she trampled upon.

Her response to the query is nothing more than a self glorifying statement serving the proud purpose to a selfish praise and defiance to the Office of the President and the Nigeria people demanding an explanation to public misappropriation of tax payers money.

Updated: Corruption- The State of the Nation

Nigeria is now officially a laughing stock to the world. Her glory no more to be seen., like an alcohol has evaporated so fast into the thin air. Corruption enshrined in our very make-up. We celebrate it, condone it and nurture it with all diligence.

A lot of us were taken aback by the comments credited to the Latino US Senator, Ted Cruz who made a mockery of Nigerians in a bid to discredit the OBAMACARE health program. The contribution of Nigeria to America's economy especially our health professional has since being overshadowed by our corrupt antics; we are now christened Internet scammers.

How safe are raw eggs?- OGHAGHARE ESE FREEMAN

How safe are raw eggs?

I remember growing up, I was a church boy. Not too fast. Still a church boy.It pays to serve God if you must know. Don't get it twisted. Back to my story.I loved music and so when the opportunity came to serve in God's house, My first choice was in the choir. We all wanted to have this flawless voice and  peradventure sing like angels. Some older folks gave some weird advice that raw eggs might help to have a smooth voice. I also tried  Okra. Hehehehehe! It never helped though as I was just one average tenor singer with a croaky voice.

Kylie and KendalL in a nude club?

kendall and kyli courtesy Ability Films
Kylie and Kendall Jenner hitting the club? Certainly Not a bad idea. Shouldn't ring a bell. But it becomes a talking point especially when it involves under-age teenagers.

TMZ report that the 16- and 17-year-old sisters were spotted heading into Vignette lounge in West Hollywood on Tuesday night.

This is not just any club for teenage girls especially on a tuesday when this club is known to host an event called the called Wax Rabbit -- "a new, voyeuristic, hip hop and nudity nightclub experience."

One must be 21 or above to gain entrance. I wonder how they made their way through the gates.
I think these girls should get a better career than being tv prostitutes just like their elder sisters changing men like you change diaper. It is now in the public domain that reality tv prostitutes ain't gonna get any star on the Hollywood Walk of fame.
Am I too harch on these girls? Am just saying. Get a Life.

Many Die In a Stampede for Sallah Rice and Gifts

Reports has it that a yet unknown  number of members of the Kwara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, died on Wednesday night as they scrambled for handouts distributed by former Governor of the state, Bukola Saraki.

Quite a pity that despite the modern era we still witness such an event occurring in cycles repeatedly.

What must have informed such a stampede? Simply put, poverty and hunger in the land. Our democracy has being so be designed for the poor to remain perpetually poor wallowing in abject poverty.

Nigeria Overwhelmingly Wins New Security Council Seat

Sincerely speaking I personally think Nigeria has no business or contributions to make in the World stage. We should focus on dealing with problems on the home front. For to remove the log from another man's eye, yours have to be clear of any impediment. We lack strong institutions to force any change in International stage. Lets build our economy, the military and democracy. Only then can we seem to make any mark that can force policy change in the World arena.

Reports has it that Nigeria has been elected for a two year term into the non-permanent seat of the United Nations. She received about 186 votes out of the 191 votes cast at the elections. This re-election comes as a surprise to many as Nigeria not too long ago, precisely in 2011 served in same capacity as a non-permanent member of the United Nations. To the informed few, her election came not as a surprise as she had already before now received endorsement from the African Union and ECOWAS.

The new term, which begins on January 1, 2014, will end on December 31, 2015.

Hillary Clinton Fined By a Warden?

The former US secretary of state was in town (London) to receive a prize from the Chatham House think tank last week for her work in promoting “a new era of US diplomatic engagement; notwithstanding her status her vehicle with an £80 (95-euro, $130) parking fine.

The simple reason is that her entourage failed to buy the £3.30 ticket required to park the Mercedes for an hour on the exclusive St James’ Square in central London.

I want to bring this discussion back home here in Nigeria. Woo unto that traffic warden that dares correct any political office holder breaking traffic laws. Such a one might lose his job after he might have received a glorious call from the DIG, AIG or the Commissioner of Police. I have witnessed sometime ago

Ministers Orders NCAA to get her two armored BMW cars

Sahara reporters has shown evidence of mis-appropriation of funds at the NCAA an Agency under the Ministry of Aviation. Evidence show how the cash-strapped Agency was pressured to use and divert funds meant for supervision to purchase two armored BMW cars for the Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah.

The NCAA is an agency charged with the responsibility of ensuring the air worthiness of commercial planes flying within the Nigerian Airspace.

I Should Have Won the Nobel Peace Award- Bashar Assad

I personally thought this year's organizers of the Nobel Prize awards would have done the right thing, but they did otherwise.
Last year, they unceremoniously awarded the prize to a President who started wars as against his election promise. Children were killed by American planes. I make my self very clear, children were killed. Do I have a proof?

12 TIPS TO MAKE YOUR PHONE BATTERY LAST LONGER

Here are some Tips on saving your battery life:

  • Don't wait to charge : Recharging when the phone is almost dead too often will make the battery do more work and lower its expectancy. Charge when your phone is 40% low. Don't wait when its just 10% or below.
  • Remove the phone from Vibration mode: It takes more energy for the phone to vibrate than to ring.
  • Kill Unnecessary Apps: Apps running in the background of your phone will make it run out of juice faster. Shut down all the apps you don't need to keep it going a little longer.

Dele Momodu: On a bus ride with Governor Amaechi

This piece is worth reading. Its an expose as it relates to Governor Amaechi's developmental strides in governance. This is not a media hype neither is it a political stunt. Amaechi has proven and shown to us that party affiliation is not Nigeria's problem but our greed for power and wealth at the expense of the vulnerable poor.
He has raised the bar and has made it crystal clear that governance is not abstract, spiritual and that which can only be imagined in our thoughts but rather visible even to the blind.

Blogger Gets Death Threats Over Article on Kaduna State Governor, Ramalan Yero

Let the whole world hear this. Many bloggers will not blog about this, especially as it is neither a story about the naked Maheeda nor Afrocandy. This must be condemned and Government must be responsible to welcome criticism and answer to issues with facts and not threats.

One of Omojuwa.com’s and AfricanLiberty.org’s most consistent writers Abubakar Musa is the next person to get death threats over his opinion on how government should run. He had written an article on the Kaduna State Government and how they could do better. The article is re-published here . While this number 07055816320 called him to issue the threats, 08107875202 sent threat messages. See the attached pictures. A report has since been made to the police but it helps to have this publicly documented here. Read the writer’s story below – Japheth Omojuwa @omojuwa

Lar Lived in Rented House- Aide

According to a aide of the former Governor;Solomon Lar, it is said lived in a rented house in Abuja. That is quite strange for a man of his status (first Chariman, the PDP). It is quite shocking,as we would expect a man of his figure to own numerous properties around Abuja and Nigeria at large. We look forward to have selfless leaders who would see beyond their noses and be conscious of this one question- What would you be remembered for?
May his soul rest in perfect peace.

"The blind leading the blind is not so upsetting, more jarring is the blind leading the sighted."

The academic staff union of universities (ASUU) have been on strike for the past ninety days; according to the ASUU chairman- Dr. Issa Fagge, the strike action became imperative because the federal government had failed to honour the agreement it made with the union in 2009.

As it has always been whenever ASUU strikes, the university students are always at the receiving end of it as we are left with no other option than to sit idle at our homes recounting our losses especially the inevitable extension of our academic years in school.

Motives of the Dialogue Fathers- Pat Utomi

Since the President reluctantly inaugurated the National Confab. committee, lots of reactions and questions from prominent Nigerians have since greeted that decision. There is so much suspicion because this a President who never supported that idea only for him to turn around in an unlikely manoeuvre. Some have since posited that is a diversionary strategy by the Government which seeks to use it as a tool in furthering their grand plan still held and jealously guarded to the chest by the Presidency.
Professor Pat Utomi has something to say about this Confab. After the cut is an embedded facebook post.......

Libyan Prime Minister Taken By Gunmen

This is exactly what imperialist actions can cause. Is it in Iraq or Libya, the story is not different. These lands had rulers who held these Islamist in check but were simply killed all because the West had an Agenda. Its quite a pity, that these places would see no stabilization soon. The imperialist are busy with the home-front and business is doing well. Of course, Libya is now a new haven for the trafficking of Arms accross the region. I won't flinch if some these weapons are used by the Boko Haram sect.Yet, the pay lip service to the threat of terror when infact its an agenda conceived in hell. Anarchy will prevail when common sense do not exist.

SOLOMON LAR GOES HOME AT 80

Solomon Lar, an astute Politician in his days has finally gone home. He was member of the first parliament when Nigeria gained her independence in 1960. He would later become the first governor of the Old Plateau State and founding chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, the largest there is in Africa.
He died yesterday in the US at the good age of 80 after being removed from life support. He would be missed at this time where elder statements in his magnitude were needed in the polity especially at this critical time of transition. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

12 NEW FACTS ABOUT SEX IN WOMEN

Scarlett Johansson dons a sexy black dress in the Esquire photo shoot.

William Masters and Virginia Johnson became famous for the ground breaking sex research they conducted at Washington University in St. Louis in the 1950s and 1960s—so famous, in fact, that Showtime decided to turn their story into a new drama series, Masters of Sex.
Masters and Johnson’s discoveries changed the way we think about sex and about women’s sexuality in particular. Their studies showed that women were capable of multiple orgasms, among other things. These were revolutionary ideas at that time, but new research about women and sex has revealed some facts that would shock even Masters and Johnson.
Here’s the latest on sex research from Dr. Eden Fromberg of SoHo OBGYN and Naomi Wolf’s most recent book, Vagina: A New Biography.

RUMOURS OF SACRIFICE, AGAGU AND STELLA ODUAH- Femi-Fani Kakoye

A well scripted and researched piece from the Chief himself. My concern however is his stance of a Holier than thou attitude and systematics in bringing to the fore ethnic malice in his write-ups. You don't need read too far to see his biased few in analysis. The records are clear. Just as GEJ is being asked to take responsibility for actions being propagated during his time,OBJ's regime didn't fare so good in the Aviation Sector. I would want to urge the Chief not to expose the activities of OBJ's regime any further. It serves no good the image of his boss. As it is well known in the public parlance, virtually all Airlines during that era were flying coffins. The mere fact that there was an interlude of no plane crashes during Fani's time as a Minister of Aviation does not in anyway point to any standards being put in place by him but just a mere coincidence. These are my sincere views just as my condolence goes out to all those who lost their lives in the ill-fated flight from Lagos to Akure. After the cut is an embedded post of the Chief's article........

512 KABO Air Passengers escape another plane crash

Barely 36 hours after a plane crashed in Lagos, killing 13 persons, tragedy was averted, on Friday night, in Sokoto, after an aircraft with 494 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia and 18 crew members on board, lost two tyres while landing.
