POLITICAL RASCALITY

The Oxford Dictionary describes a rascal as a person, especially a child or man, who shows a lack of respect for other people and enjoys playing tricks on them.
This definition best describes the situation and events in Rivers State, Nigeria. The rule of law has supposedly evaporated and holds no water anymore. The president hands has suddenly become too heavy to uphold the law in times as these.
Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Its no surprise the turn of events in Rivers State. Just yesterday the State was a cynosure of all eyes; a model of a state where governance was working. Quite a pity the baby is thrown away with the bath water.

In a conflict of interest, the first casualty is usually TRUTH. "TRUTH" , always the first to be murdered in the altar of injustice. One thing is sure absolute POWER belongs to God.
It is worrisome, individuals have lost the rights to dream, unelected first lady now powerful than an elected governor, unpopular assembly members more powerful than the Chief Security Officer of a State, five members now a majority amongst 23 house members, 16 votes a majority vote where 19 were in majority. Things happen in Nigeria.
Politics is a game. Desperation has since set-in in the polity. The truth is not far fetched. Rivers State is a major financial of the National party, PDP. I see panicking in high places as PDP is set to loose this financial war chest; a largesse they cannot stomach losing and so the "political rascality"on display.
The film is just about to begin. Sit down, relax and enjoy the jibes. What happened today was a thriller - someone was slapped,so I heard, many hospitalized. The full film would be premiered soon.
To the actors, please no Guns. Just flex the muscles while giving us new definitions of a majority. The lexicologist would be so happy having these definitions in the next editions of the dictionaries.
Sit down look na dog name. I de laugh Ooooooooo.
